Aerotek - Great experience

I had the pleasure of working with Amanda at Aerotek. She called me and got me in for an opportunity. She followed up with me all the way til the end of the process. I was fortunate to get an offer on the first opportunity in which Amanda presented me. I have worked with other agencies, and I have had a bad experience with the previous competitors. Amanda and Aerotek by far have been the best. John also followed up with me when Amanda was not available, they have a great team, if you are able to work with Aerotek I highly recommend. I know that not all experiences are the same, and some people will bash companies and sometimes it is due, however in this case Aerotek is by far a great company I had a great experience and will definitely recommend there services.

Aerotek - Not impressed

First, it took the recruiter, Nick Henderson at the Braintree location over 3 weeks just to call my references, while misleading me the entire time. Then was unable to find any work in the ENTIRE metro Boston area. Not one. Just the runaround over and over, and excuses in every direction. Nothing accomplished, a complete waste of my time.

I just went through a similar situation with Aerotek here in Omaha, NE. I had a good job but, had safety concerns due to an increase in crimes in the industry.

I was easily coaxed and deceived into quitting my job to accept a 6-week temporary position with the promise to find me a permanent position before the temporary assignment ended.

Long story short, here I sit a week before Christmas with no work. I call Aerotek and talked to Dean who tells me they don't have anything for me right now, "it's just that time of year." As if you didn't realize it was "that time of year" a few weeks ago when we made the arrangement.

Aerotek - Very lackluster at least

Applied for jobs and never got feedback from recruiters. I was very qualified but only git answers after I called and emailed numerous times only to be told they weren't moving forward with me for the position. Maybe they should have more qualified people to interview prospects I don't know. I believe this is a culture at aerotek they never call back especially Ann Arbor!

Aerotek is notorious for hiring "fresh out of college" grads who have no previous experience in recruiting. For many, it's their first job (outside of waiting tables).

If you are 30 and working at Aerotek, you are considered "old". I am not surprised to read about the negative experience you had dealing with unprofessional employees.

Aerotek recruiters are required to have a certain number of in office interviews with applicants, per week. It doesn't matter if they have a position for them or not, they have to make that interview quota.

From that face to face interview, they are required to get professional references, inclusive of names, job titles and direct phone numbers, to your past and present employers. Also, they are suppose to try and find out where you have currently been interviewing/applying. With this information, they then call these employers, not to get references on you, but rather to try to set an appointment to try to get new accounts. If they were able to find out where you are currently interviewing, they will contact those companies and try to set interviews for Aerotek applicants for the position you've interviewed/applied for!

Illegal? No.

Unethical and scummy? YOU BET!

Aerotek - Worst Experience Ever!

There is a recruiter named Jordyn in the Tempe Office of Aerotek that is a complete self-serving ***! I was clinically diagnosed with a temporary condition, causing paralysis to my face. Jordyn knew of this and yet, proceeded to schedule me for an 8:30am interview this Morning, giving me less than 24 hours to prepare. I left my house just after 8am, my gps was showing it was a 15 minute ETA. However, Each route I attempted was blocked with traffic. The medical condition also affects my eyesight and driving is difficult. I should have never accepted or agreed to this appointment, but she was adamant about it and I didn't want to disappoint her. I made it to the appointment, but I was 10 minutes late. The company was extremely rude and denied my appointment. Shortly after, I received a call from Jordyn--who proceeded to "*** me out" and not even listen to my side of the circumstances. Funny thing about this, when Jordyn originally contacted me, I told her I had already accepted another job. She still started discussing a job that sounded even better than the one I had already accepted, so I was interested...later to find out she had lied and mis-represented this opportunity. Then, she called me back and said I found a job that matches all of your wants. Unfortunately, I was late for the intereview and Jordyn "dismissed" me. I gave her a second chance, but I guess that only goes one way in this company.

As Aerotek seems to only hire "fresh from college" grads for their recruiting roles, it's possible this Jordyn doesn't know what the *** she is doing. For many "recruiters", Aerotek is their first professional job and for some, it's their first job period.

The working environment at Aerotek is often described as being "a high school like mentality". Aerotek recruiters are required to meet a weekly quota in conducting face to face interviews in the office. From these interviews, they are suppose to get names, numbers and contact numbers for hiring managers you previously worked for. They will also want to know who you have interviewed with.

This is so they can contact these people and see if they can provide any staffing needs for them. In other words, you get used and your references get harassed. Read other complaints here. Many references report receiving multiple sales calls from Aerotek, after someone used them as a reference.

Make sure you leave a review on yelp (they have MANY negative ones for this office, including one specifically naming this Jordyn person). Also, go to glassdoor and leave a review of the interview you experienced or rather the interview you attempted to experience. You could even file a BBB complaint.

BTW: I found this recruiter on facebook and indeed, she looks exactly as I expected. A very young girl.
